Redefine HIV is an awareness initiative aimed at spreading HIV awareness by blogging about emotionally impactful stories told from the perspectives of those in the positive (HIV) community. Anshul Puli, who heads this project, was inspired by his friend who told him stories of the hardships and perseverance prevalent in the HIV culture from family members who had experienced it. From this Anshul had a desire to spread awareness of the social impact of HIV to others by utilizing the same story-telling based style his friend had employed. This, along with natural portraits of individuals involved in each story, is what composes each blog post on this site. The overarching theme is to show the social, as opposed to only the medical, side of such a deadly disease.
